COMMENTS: Well, that pinwheel in the middle is such that you gotta either love it or hate it, I think, and I love it. Interestingly, I find it more attractive from a distance than up close.

I ALWAYS POINT OUT ANYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE COMMENTED ON. THESE ARE (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED) THINGS THAT DO NOT DETRACT FROM THE BEAUTY OF THE BOWL, BUT I WANT TO BE SURE I GIVE A COMPLETE DESCRIPTION. SO ...

the osage orange pieces have dark spots which is just a characteristics of osage orange. Also, the osage orange pieces started out as brighter yellow than they are now (as you can see in the image of the bowl blank) but have darkened over time. That is also a characteristic of that particular wood. A couple of the purpleheart pieces inside the rim had a black surface that didn't all get sanded off and you can just see a bit of it on where they meet the other woods. Also there are a few VERY minor joint shifts that are invisible and can just barely be felt with your fingers.
