views 2 and 8: Honduras mahogany, yellowheart, purpleheart, BOX
views 4 and 6: bocote, padauk, BOX
view 5: padauk, curly maple, wenge, BOX
BOX: bottom wedges are pine and above that is bloodwood topped by ebony veneer, the in the lower middle from the center outward in both directions is purpleheart (very small pieces), curly maple, panga panga. Above the the upper section is, from the middle upwards, panga panga, douglas fir, Honduras rosewood, curly maple.
flaws/issues: The pine wedges in the bottom of the BOX are much softer than the woods around them and so sanded down further and show a slight depression. The very center is also slightly depressed because I overcompensated for a slightly raised center.
The padauk in views 4 and 6 each have small chip-outs where they join the curly maple of view 5
comments: Excellent BOX on this one and the choice to use the flat-surface bottom and inner rim works very well with this design
