video for bowl B273

B273 --- $125.00

diameter: 9"
height: 2 1/4"
shipping weight: 2lb 1oz (when asking about shipping costs, please don't forget to give me your zip code)

finish: one coat of natural stain then 4 coats of polyurethane (with UV blocker) and topped with two coats of clear flat enamel to take the shine off. Note that this enamel finish sometimes (including this bowl) has a weird effect on the pics without having a similar effect on the actual bowl. What happens is that the yellow woods become noticeably more yellow (again, in the pics, not on the bowl itself) and white woods take on a yellow tint. If I color-correct the white/yellow, then the reds and purples come out very wrong, so I leave the pics the way they are, but be aware that yellows in particular are slightly more yellow in the pics than in reality.

COMMENTS: This is the only bowl that I've done with this particular shape. It's my basic "C5" type but the undercut rim is flat with angles rather than smoothly curved. I like this quite a lot and will likely do more of this shape some day. Overall this one is a bit "busy", with a LOT of different woods (as you can see in the "labeled" image). The curly paela pieces are a real standout and the overall boldness of the contrasting colors works quite well, I think.

I ALWAYS POINT OUT ANYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE COMMENTED ON. THESE ARE (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED) THINGS THAT DO NOT DETRACT FROM THE BEAUTY OF THE BOWL, BUT I WANT TO BE SURE I GIVE A COMPLETE DESCRIPTION. SO ...

<nothing to comment on with this bowl>
