comments: the Douglas fir in view 7 is amazingly high ring count --- 50 PER INCH ! I've seen dealers brag about having fir with a ring count of 20 to 25 per inch, but this stuff is incredible. This is a piece from a very small plank that was contributed to my web site. Don't be misled by the slanted cut which makes the count appear a lot less than 50 --- if you look at this from outside the rim at the right angle, you'll see the true count.
The purpleheart in the BOX is a particularly colorful piece, the walnut in view 5 is excellent, and most of the other woods throughout the bowl are quite good.
