C106 --- $60 --- this is the orientation view --- more pics down below

diameter: 6 3/4"
height: 2 1/2"

finish: one application of natural stain then 3 coats of high gloss spar polyurethane (with UV blocker)

WOODS USED: [SEE DISCUSSION ON THE MAIN PAGE OF THIS SITE IF ANY OF THIS IS UNCLEAR]

base: mahogany

view 1: osage orange, walnut, both over pirma vera, bocote, red aromatic cedar, BOX

view 2: hard maple

view 3: ?, padauk veneer, ?, then an angled section of (from the left) a wedge of mahogany, sapele, douglas fir, meranti

view 4: bocote, sen

view 5: walnut, yellowheart, purpleheart (under the purpleheart is oak, a little of which shows through near the rim), BOX

view 6: mahogany, ribbon stripe sapele, lamination of oak thins and thick mahogany veneer, BOX

view 7: mahogany, pine

view 8: on the inside of the rim a small wedge of ? (dark brown)

BOX: bottom is a thin piece of osage orange, then walnut, oasage orange, ash, all sided by mahogany and that topped by a wedge of meranti sided by oak thins then prima vera topped by mahogany. All of that sided by mahogany thins and then on the left hard maple veneer then mahogany and on the right aromatic red cedar.

flaws/issues: the top of the rim on the right side of view 3 has a small indentation about 1/4" long that should have been turned off but was overlooked, and the dark brown wedge in view 8 has some very small edge chipping inside the rim.

comments: I'm not a big fan of symmetry and I've deliberately put the "box" off center on a few bowls just to see how it would turn out. On this one, I think it makes for an interesting effect but someone who prefers symmetry might find it jarring.
