flaws/issues: the zircote in view 4 broke off at the edge during what was to be the final sanding and interestingly enough embedded itself in my finger without doing any significant damage, which was QUITE surprizing both because it happened and because it didn't do much damage. The bowl was turning at high speed, as I always do for the final sanding, and it amazes me that all the chip did was prick my skin. Anyway, it was apparent that further turning would remove the immediate flaw but quite possibly just cause another one just like it as the zircote got thiner so I left it alone and sanded it and the cedar next to it to avoid sharp edges. It's pretty minor, but it is quite obvious both to the eye and to the finger, so I've reduced the price of the bowl from what it would otherwise be.
comments: The oak pieces show nice ray flakes and both cocobolo pieces (from the same section of the same plank) are just gorgeous.
