BOX: bottom is wenge, top is canary over bubinga. Lower middle is ? (probably bocote) sided by pine and upper middle is yellowheart sided by wenge.
flaws/issues: there are two rough spots at in the lower rim of the base.
comments: There is an interesting chatoyancy in the yellowheart in the box. Hold the bowl looking at view 1 and angle it towards you then away from you and you'll see the two pieces change from one dark / one light to the opposite. Same piece of wood, just opposite orientation. I just noticed ... you can see what I'm talking about by looking at the pics of views 1c and 5c below.
The pine in view 5 has an unusually strong grain due to high resin content. In fact, the resin content is so high you can see it bleeding into the earlywood on the right hand side.
This bowl is made mostly from relatively soft woods and was a real pleasure to turn.
