height: 2 1/2"

finish: 10 thin coats of satin-finish spar polyurethane (with UV blocker)

WOODS USED: [SEE DISCUSSION ON THE MAIN PAGE OF THIS SITE IF ANY OF THIS IS UNCLEAR]

base: curly maple

view 1: mulberry, curly maple, BOX

view 2: limba, wenge, BOX

view 4: leopardwood, curly maple, BOX

view 5: purpleheart, redheart, BOX

view 6: lacewood, curly maple, BOX

view 8: zircote, wenge, BOX

BOX: the yellow segments are yellowheart and the red middle is redheart.

flaws/issues: the yellowheart in the BOX has a glue-line gap between view 7 and 1 that is quite obvious and is an oversight on my part and has caused me to reduce the price significantly. The curly maple inside the rim in view 4 has a horrendous accumulation of dark dust that was crushed into the end grain by an unfortunate combination of grain alignment and a too-dull gouge. This can be seen in the closeup below and has caused me to reduce the price even further.

comments: Basically, this would have been a nifty little bowl but with two significant flaws, both entirely my own fault, I'm essentially giving it away.

closeup of the dark dust crushed into the end-grain area of the curly maple in view 4. There is a simlar, although much less significant, occurance in the curly maple in view 6, as you can see in the orientation view pic at the top of the page.
