BOX: at the bottom (from the bottom up) is curly maple, machiche, thick birch veneer. At the top (from the top down) is Honduras rosewood, maple veneer, aromatic red cedar, padauk veneer. In the middle is a lamination which is, on the left from the bottom up: bloodwood, yellowheart, partridgewood, yellowheart and on the right from the bottom up: yellowheart, ? (very dark wood), zebrawood, aromatic red cedar.
flaws/issues: The mulberry in view 6 had an internal hole in what is now the top of the rim. I saw a knot there when I glue up the blank but thought that it would turn off, then when I got the blank on the lathe I decided to do a shape that ended up leaving the knot present and the knot turned out to be hollow, thus the hole. I've filled it with glue, but you can see it clearly.
The hole in the partridgewood in view 4 is just wood character, not a flaw.
comments: continuous smooth curve inside the bowl from the center all the way to the rim makes for a nice look and feel.
