C194 --- $75.00 --- this is the orientation view --- more pics down below

diameter: 6 1/2"
height: 2 1/2"

finish: 10 thin coats of satin-finish spar polyurethane (with UV blocker)

WOODS USED: [SEE DISCUSSION ON THE MAIN PAGE OF THIS SITE IF ANY OF THIS IS UNCLEAR]

base: limba

view 1: poplar, red maple, yellowheart, BOX

view 2: mahogany, thick mahogany veneer, mahogany, chechem, BOX

view 4: andiroba, yellowheart, BOX

view 5: oxhorn, BOX

view 6: wenge, bocote, BOX

view 8: aromatic red cedar over canarywood over padauk veneer over canarywood over aromatic red cedar, then black ash, BOX

BOX: upper left and lower left are chechem, upper right and lower right are chechem then redheart. Horizontal lamination is, from the center upwards and downwards (mirrored), redheart, ebony veneer, silky oak, ebony veneer, andiroba(?), ebony veneer, redheart

flaws/issues: There is a slight lift of the edge (due to movement in service) of the wenge in view 6 as it comes into the rim in view 8. You can see it if you know to look for it, and you can definitely feel it with your finger tip. I have reduce the price slightly because of it.

LATER: the redheart pieces in the box have faded to red-brown

comments: both pieces of mahogany in view 2 are nicely chatoyant as is the oxhorn in view 5.

I really like the pattern in this one and the selection of woods, but I do think it would have been better if the BOX were centered instead of looking as though it is offset to the left.
