C202 --- $SOLD --- this is the orientation view --- more pics down below

diameter: 9"
height: 2 1/2"

finish: 10 thin coats of satin-finish spar polyurethane (with UV blocker)

WOODS USED: [SEE DISCUSSION ON THE MAIN PAGE OF THIS SITE IF ANY OF THIS IS UNCLEAR]

base: walnut

view 1: imbuia, fir, bloodwood, BOX

view 2: afrormosia, maple, BOX

view 3: bocote, Honduras rosewood, osage orange, padauk, cowtree(?), BOX

view 4: shedua, curly maple, butternut, BOX

view 5: redheart (pink sapwood over heartwood), prima vera, bubinga, BOX

view 6: Honduras rosewood, cabreuva, sipo, BOX

view 7: chechem, shedua, wenge, pine, BOX

view 8: redheart, maple, padauk, osage orange, BOX

BOX: both sides contain the same lamination, which as a large piece of redheart and smaller pieces which, from the middle outward, are: mahogany, redheart, canary, zircote, ? (grayish wood), bubinga(?)

flaws/issues: The lower left portion of the box has separated from the adjoining pieces, creating a line that can be both felt and seen. The Honduras rosewood in view 3 has a barely perceptible natural flaw where the heartwood meets the sapwood on the bottom of the bowl.

comments: All of the woods in the rim of this bowl are excellent, with the curly maple inside the rim in view 4 being particularly nice, with an exceptionally strong curl. The Honduras rosewood in view 3 is an exceptionally nice for that species (and for that matter, nice in absolute terms as well)

The shedua in view 4 and the chechem in view 7 are both lightly chatoyant

Because of the separation flaw in the BOX, I have priced this bowl quite low compared to what it would otherwise be.
