BOX: all of the center pieces are yellowheart and there is bubinga both above and below the center. On the left and right are laminations of bocote and wenge.

flaws/issues: The paela in view 1 has expanded just a hair and you can feel a ridge arount its edge on the outer rim, although it is not visible and does not detract at all from the beauty of the bowl.

There are hair-line separations at the glue joints at the top and bottom of the BOX

comments: This one is, in my opinion, just all-around gorgeous. There are no woods in it that are less than excellent and I think the design works particularly well. The BOX in this one was influenced by Navhoe rug designs I saw in the American Southwest in the 1950's.

The paela in view 1 is from the best piece of that species I have ever worked, with a gorgeous deep uniform orange color throughout instead of just as a patina, and to make it even better, it's curly.

The rim is thicker than usual on this one. I remember that when I turned it, I had a reason for leaving the rim thick, but I can't remember now what that reason was.
