diameter: 9 3/4"

COMMENTS: The curly paela on the upper rim is a real standout. The ambrosia maple on the lower rim turned out exactly the way I planned, with the beetle hole in the middle and the ambrosia stain radiating out horizontally. The morado on the rim behind the spalted elm is a very nice piece. There are some attractive ovals on the inside of the rim and the morado oval in the middle of the spalted elm is what I call an omega curve.
I ALWAYS POINT OUT ANYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE COMMENTED ON. THESE ARE (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED) THINGS THAT DO NOT DETRACT FROM THE BEAUTY OF THE BOWL, BUT I WANT TO BE SURE I GIVE A COMPLETE DESCRIPTION. SO ...
The spalted elm has wormholes on both top and bottom and a dark blotch on top, as you can see in the images. This is wood character and is sometimes seen in spalted wood (spalting being a form of rot). It also has enlarged just a tiny amount and although you can't see it, if you run your finger around the rim you feel a very slight raised edge where it meets the other woods on the rim.
