finish: one application of natural stain and then 3 coats of high gloss spar polyurethane (with UV blocker)

base: African mahogany

center: bottom is walnut and there are 4 wedges of walnut rising up from the corners of the center to the top of the bowl

view 1: 3 pieces of sen sandwiching 2 pieces of thick mahogany veneer all over ? (pine or fir?) over a hard maple thin. Makore wedges at the sides and then all backed by a lamination of 2 pieces of thick mahogany veneer sandwiching hard maple veneer.

view 3: osage orange over ? (might be bubinga) over osage orange over ash over cocobolo over mahogany

view 5: walnut over thick oak veneer over thick mahogany veneer over thick oak veneer over walnut over ash and all backed by thick oak veneer, thick walnut veneer, thick oak veneer

view 7: ash over ? (as in view 3, it might be bubinga), over hard maple veneer, over a box of 2 pieces of cocobolo sandwiching an osage orange thin and all sided by walnut and all over osage orange

comments: I started this one as a "dried flower" holder type, but decided to make it a "goblet" type instead and I think that worked out well.

flaws/issues: The inside has some cracks and chip-outs deep down inside. The osage orange in view 3 has darkened to a chocolate brown.
