G11 --- $SOLD --- this is the orientation view --- more pics down below

diameter: 7 1/2"
height: 5"

finish: one application of natural stain then 3 coats of high gloss spar polyurethane (with UV blocker)

WOODS USED: [SEE DISCUSSION ON THE MAIN PAGE OF THIS SITE IF ANY OF THIS IS UNCLEAR]

base: the bottom is red oak all the way around, some with mineral stains.
views 1 and 3: makore backed by tzalam and with a sliver of oxhorn at the top
views 2 and 4: sipo backed by tulip poplar (with a green tint)

center: the inner 4 wedges are Honduras mahogany sapwood and the 4 little wedges outside that are okoume.

view 1: the 4 center wedges are all from an exceptionally nice piece of bubinga (an unusual piece too; I believe this was from a crotch area) and the sideways V shape separating them is maple veneer. The lower right is redheart, the lower left is cumuru(?) then pine. The upper left is redheart and the upper right is cowtree then a tiny wedge of walnut. On the right side are two tiny wedges of sycamore. Under all that is aromatic red cedar and then under that is another piece of aromatic red cedar that extends under views 2 and 8. Inside the buginga is backed by two layers of thick birch veneer, then makore then a thin of aromatic red cedar. Behind views 8, 1, and 2 is a piece of ? veneer (could be oak or ash)

view 2: cowtree over mahogany over redheart over prima vera

view 3: on the outside is canary over redheart over bocote over mahogany over zircote backed by mahogany and then under that is ?(a dark reddish brown wood). On the inside, there are canary, mahogany, yew, black ash

view 4: chechem over bocote over redheart over cypress over a tiny wedge of aromatic red cedar. On the inside is redheart over cowtree over bocote over bloodwood(?)

view 5: walnut then red oak both under aromatic red cedar. There is a slash of mahogany running diagonally through the oak and underneath it all is ?(greenish wood) Behind all that on the inside is pine then aromatic red cedar.

view 6: cowtree over mahogany over redheart over prima vera

view 7: along the top is aromatic red cedar. On the left, top down, is mahogany, tzalam, pine, padauk, gaboon ebony, aromatic red cedar. On the right, top down, is zircote, ash (or it might be sen), cocobolo, basswood. Behind both sections on the inside are pieces of sipo and then a single piece of red birch

view 8: cowtree over mahogany over redheart over prima vera

flaws/issues: none

comments: The piece of bubinga from which the bubinga in view 1 was taken had numerous flaws so I had to cut out good sections and I'm very pleased with how I was able to make use of them in this bowl.
