view 7: lamniation of curly maple and wenge with leopardwood in the lower left corner and then all backed by chechem then aromatic red cedar, and all of that over aromatic red cedar

view 8: canary over panga panga

flaws/issues: where the two piece of maple meet in view 7, there is a small section that was not turned down properly, leaving a small flat area on the top of the lower piece of maple. This was just carelessness on my part to not have seen this before taking the bowl off the lathe.

comments: I particularly like the way the high grain of the wenge contrasts with the maple in view 7. Both pieces of paela in the base are quite chatoyant and have outstanding color. The paela in view 2 is mildly chatoyant.

The mahogany in the center is exceptionally light-color heartwood that almost looks like sapwood.

The chechem inside view 7 had some fantastic grain irregularities but they almost all turned off --- you can still see a couple of the streaks on one side.
