flaws/issues: small spot at absolute center is poorly turned and consequently shows an unnecessary discoloration that should have been sanded out.
Edge at view #3 has a very small spot that was not fully sanded down --- really careless on my part to let this get by. I had intended to sand it prior to the poly, but I forgot.
Most of the woods are porous, so there are surface indentations over most of the bowl. As explained on the main page, I allow this on purpose and consider it character, not a flaw.
comments: white limba show some nice bug poop, including one little orange spot
Overall and notwithstanding the two minor flaws, this is an outstanding bowl. All of the woods are excellent, especially the curly red maple, the padauk, the maple burl, the knot-holed aromatic red cedar, and the nice large chatoyant piece of African mahogany. Also, I think the design worked VERY well on this one.
