view 2: ? (reddish tan), thick maple veneer, aromatic red cedar, osage orange, BOX
view 3: osage orange, padauk, mahogany, red oak, BOX
view 4: aromatic red cedar, wenge veneer, aromatic red cedar, canary, BOX
view 5: walnut, cypress, walnut, BOX
view 6: TINY oval of walnut, aromatic red cedar, mahogany veneer, aromatic red cedar, canary
view 7: aromatic red cedar, mahogany, red oak, BOX
BOX: the bottom is chechem, pine diagonal, chechem, all sided by pine. The top is purpleheart, pine diagonals, bocote on the right and on the left is yellowheart over basswood
flaws/issues:separation at the center line through the whole BOX plus separation at upper right between box and walnut (and this one goes through to the bottom although on the bottom you can barely see it, but you can feel it with your fingernail)
Red aromatic cedar inside the view 8 position has a crack
minor ugly point: upper left of box has a osage orange shaving off into pine? in an unplanned and somewhat unattractive way.
comments: To me, the middle (box) of this bowl is ugly even without the separation which just makes it worse, but the rest of it is very good. Still, I'm pricing it low because I just don't like that middle.
