BOX: The bottom is wenge and then the mirrored sections, from the bottom up, are: padauk, hard maple veneer, ebony veneer, hard maple veneer, padauk veneer, hard maple veneer, bocote, hard maple veneer, bocote, yellowheart, purpleheart, yellowheart, wenge, redheart, quartersawn poplar with ray flakes, and on the upper corners, purpleheart, then the lacewood of view 5.
flaws/issues: The cocobolo in view 3 has a very faint stress separation from the BOX. It isn't really visible on the top but more so on the bottom and it is obvious to the fingernail.
comments: ALL of the wood in this one is really nice but the bocote on the outer rim of views 1 and 8 has a particularly attractive grain contrast (unless of course you don't like it, in which case you might see it as particularly ugly) and the cocobolo in views 3 and 7 is outstanding. There are several chatoyant pieces including the paela in views 3 and 7, both the oak and the bloodwood in view 5 and the mahogany in view 1. This bowl does a particularly nice job of showing off a lot of exotic woods.
