video for bowl N019
SOLD

N019 --- $SOLD

diameter: 9 1/2"
height: 2 1/2"
shipping weight: 2lb 8oz (when asking about shipping costs, please don't forget to give me your zip code)

finish: one application of natural stain then three coats of high gloss spar polyurethane (with UV blocker)

comments: pine on the left of the rim has a nice little crotch/curly area on the bottom and all of the mahogany in the box is beautifully chatoyant (you get a hint of that in the orientation view at the top of this page but unfortunately the light wasn't right for it to show up in the video).

The zircote to the left of bottom is so dark that it looks entirely like ebony.

I ALWAYS POINT OUT ANYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE COMMENTED ON. THESE ARE (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED) THINGS THAT DO NOT DETRACT FROM THE BEAUTY OF THE BOWL, BUT I WANT TO BE SURE I GIVE A COMPLETE DESCRIPTION. SO ... A very slight edge shift has occurred on the outer rim between the tulipwood at the bottom and the zircote to the left of bottom plus there is a slight stress separation along the left side of the middle area. These issues are very minor (the can't be seen but can be felt if you run your finger over the bowl)

The redwood at the top has a slight crack that can be seen on the top of the piece, but this is as much wood character as flaw.
