BOX:
flaws/issues: There is a tiny gum inclusion in the center of the bowl in the oak at view 3. The pine at the back of view 1 has minor edge chipping. One of the redheart pieces in view 7 has a small gum inclusion. These are all trivial, but as always, I try to point out every such issue.
comments: I've been making blanks of this size and shape for some time now but this was the first one I got onto the lathe and while I think it turned out really beautiful, I was dismayed to find that it took over 4 hours to turn because I had not turned one of these before and was feeling my way around how I wanted it to turn out, and also because of the large amount of center material that had to be gouged out (the blank was solid). the walls are fairly thick on this one and relative to many of my bowls, this one is quite heavy.
The paela at the bottom of view 1 is nicely chatoyant.
