WOODS USED: [SEE DISCUSSION ON THE MAIN PAGE OF THIS SITE IF ANY OF THIS IS UNCLEAR]

base: Honduras mahogany

view 1: African blackwood over purpleheart over afrormosia, all backed by basswood then maple, bocote, BOX

view 2: curly Honduras mahogany, Peruvian walnut, BOX

view 3: osage orange, redheart over prima vera, curly maple, beech, BOX

view 4: cocobolo, bloodwood, padauk, osage orange, BOX

view 5: bocote, cherry

view 6: macawood, padauk, osage orange, BOX

view 7: white oak, curly maple, Peruvian walnut, BOX

view 8: curly oxhorn, cocobolo, BOX

BOX: up the middle is a lamination of ebony sided by maple veneer sided by aromatic red cedar. To the sides of that is wenge, and then there are more pieces of the same lamination and wenge. The upper slants are boxwood and the lower slants are holly.

flaws/issues: Not a flaw but just something to be aware of is that the bottom of this one has a wider spread of birch veneer than is usual, and it extends well past the BOX and hides the underside of some of the exotics.

LATER: the osage orange pieces in views 4 and 6 have darkened to a light golden brown

comments: The bloodwood in view 4 has outstandingly deep blood red color, the bocote in view 5 is excellent, the padauk wedges in view 4 and 6 are a terrific orange color
